Introduction
It is recognized that different countries and ethnic groups have contrasting cultures, which manifest themselves in both management practices and organisational structure. In this seminar, a wide range of theoretical and practical perspectives will be developed to assist managers to operate successfully within and across cultures. The seminar encourages an appreciation and a critique of their application to management functions, and challenges participants to consider how they might prepare themselves for international assignments. It aims to raise participants’ awareness of the problems of managing across cultures.
