Introduction

The emphasis will be placed on drawing from the participants’ own experiences and using these as resources around which the seminar will be developed. This seminar begins with the current research and practice related to the functioning of the individual, both as a manager and as a subordinate, within the organisation. This seminar will instill leadership skills to the participants.

Course Objective

Upon completing this course, the participants will be able to:

· To provide an introduction to the study of human behavior in organisation from a managerial perspective

· To develop an understanding of concepts which can contribute to the effective management of people at work

· To understand the various leadership theories and practical applications

· Demonstrate an understanding of current research and practice related to the functioning of the individual in the organisation

· Explain the purpose of team within organisations and able to make recommendations for improving the effectiveness of working teams

· Appreciate the various leadership traits and skills
